The Varvel RO2 Series brings a high-efficiency two-stage in-line bevel helical gearbox solution designed for industrial use where compactness, precision, and strength matter. With a monolithic housing that provides outstanding torsional rigidity and a layout that supports in-line input and output positioning, the RO2 is ideal for mechanical systems requiring tight alignment and minimal footprint. This gearbox is engineered to handle up to 550 Nm of output torque (at 1400 rpm) and reduction ratios ranging from 5:1 to 54.7:1, making it a robust choice for medium-duty power-transmission tasks across sectors such as material handling, packaging, agro-food, and industrial automation.

Features of The RO2 Series

The RO2 Series features a cast-aluminium monobloc housing that combines excellent torsional stiffness with minimal distortion, offering both high mechanical stability and durability under load. Internal gears are manufactured from cemented and hardened alloy steel and work with precision bearings (either ball or tapered-roller), ensuring smooth, quiet operation and long service life. The gearbox is designed to operate with synthetic oil lubrication that remains effective for the life of the unit, reducing maintenance time and costs. Standard protection includes input and output oil seals in NBR and a backlash specification of 15’–20’ for smooth, predictable performance. Furthermore, the gearbox supports a wide array of tailor-made options including special seals (Viton, silicone), corrosion-resistant anodisation, ATEX certification for explosive atmospheres, and customised shaft or flange variants, allowing integration into applications as varied as chemical processing, marine environments, food & beverage lines, and explosive-classified areas.
